Online exclusive: Fire is extinguished at Northcliff Corner Shopping Centre
NORTHCLIFF – According to eye-witnesses, the fire broke out at the cooking facilities at Checkers at Northcliff Corner Shopping Centre.
A fire broke out at around 8.30am at Northcliff Corner Shopping Centre today (6 November).
The fire has been extinguished by emergency services and there were no serious injuries reported.
Northcliff Melville Times journalist, Andile Dlodlo is on scene.
He said Fairland police are on scene and there is traffic on Beyers Naudé Drive outside the centre.
Dlodlo said details are sketchy but according to eye-witnesses the fire broke out at the cooking facilities at the Checkers.
Staff and shoppers were evacuated immediately and are still not allowed to enter the centre.
