LINDEN – The event will be hosted for the public in celebration of the Christmas season.

Trinity Methodist Church will host its Christmas Cantata on 2 December.

The event, featuring the Trinity Methodist Church Fusion Choir, will take place at the church in the morning at 8am and will be repeated at 9.30am.

Choir conductor Neil Bennett of Trinity Methodist Church.

Brett Mordaunt, a lay pastor at the church explained that a cantata is a narrative musical item of voices with instrumental accompaniment and in this case, the piano and the organ, with various solos and choruses.

This narrative tells the Christmas story through song.

The Fusion Choir practices for this year’s Christmas Cantata which will be hosted on 2 December at the Trinity Methodist Church.

He said, “The choir who will be hosting the cantata have been practising for a number of months already… We have been hosting two cantatas per year for more than a decade. We also host an annual Easter Cantata. As a community, we are very much looking forward to the event.”

The choir is led by Neil Bennett and the event is free to the public.
