Greymont Residents Forum to host community meeting

GREYMONT – Residents urged to come and have their say at the residents forum meeting.

Residents forum calls on residents, business owners and interested people to attend their community meeting on 22 May.

After 18 months of not having a community and residents meeting, the Greymont Residents Forum (GRF) will be returning to action on 22 May. The meeting will be held at the Greymont NG Kerk from 6.30pm. According to the founder of the forum, Clive Malherbe, the meeting will give residents an opportunity to contribute to the affairs of Greymont. He said, “This is a time for honest dialogue and interaction, building a sense of community.”

These are some of the items on the agenda for the meeting:

  • Take stock of where the community is and assess whether they have progressed or stagnated
  • A brief overview of the forum’s finances
  • Discuss what the critical issues facing the community are
  • Formulate ideas for proposals and projects that will help make Greymont better
  • Engage with the ward councillor on issues facing residents.

Malherbe is pleading with the residents of Greymont to attend this meeting. He said, “I ask you all to contact at least another person in Greymont and invite them to our meeting. The more people we have, the more the meeting will be representative of our community. Any decisions we make at this meeting will therefore be acted on.”
