Police are currently investigating a case of business robbery.
According to the spokesperson for the Brixton Police Station, Jeanette Backhoff, a group of men entered a restaurant on 27 August and allegedly robbed it. “Three males [came into] the store and demanded cash from the till at about 8.20pm.”
Backhoff explained that one of the three suspects where armed. “One of the suspects had a firearm. One of the employees were ordered to open the cash register and [the suspects] took cash of about R1 500.”
The suspects then allegedly searched those in the store for valuables and money but were unlucky as the staff had none on their persons. No shots were fired during the robbery nor any injuries sustained. It is unknown whether the suspects left on foot or by vehicle.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact them.
