One arrested after car collides with another
BERARIO – Police are on the hunt for the accomplices of the arrested suspect charged with housebreaking.
Police arrest one suspect after being found with housebreaking implements.
Another suspected housebreaker is behind bars after being busted by Beagle Watch and Fairland police. On 26 September, one man was arrested after housebreaking implements were found in the boot of his car. According to the spokesperson for Fairland Police Station Constable Michael Kgatla, the arrest came after a chase between the suspect and a Beagle Watch response officer who was patrolling the Berario area when they noticed a suspicious-looking vehicle.
“As they approached the car the suspect attempted to make a getaway forcing the officer to pursue them. It wasn’t until the suspects’ car collided with another vehicle that they were able to apprehend them.”
Kgatla said no injuries were reported after the collision. He added that the suspect had accomplices and that Fairland police are hard at work to track them down.
Police urge the public to contact them or a security company whenever they notice unusual or suspicious behaviour in the neighbourhoods.
