De La Salle in the swim of things

VICTORY PARK – In-form swimmers turn up the heat just before the Prestige Swimming Gala.


On 3 March, De La Salle Holy Cross College hosted the Inter-High D League Gala at their new Gavan Ryan Aquatic Centre. Of the eight high schools that participated which included Northcliff High School, Beaulieu, Pecanwood College and Waterstone, the hosts finished first.

Deputy head in charge of sport at De La Salle, Ruan Liebenberg said, “We are very proud of our swimmers winning the first inter-high gala held at our new aquatic centre. We have seen our swimming across the college improve tremendously this season now that we have our own pool.”

The gala was also a chance for the swimmers to qualify for the Prestige Gala on 10 March at St Stithians College.

The final results for the Inter-High D League Gala were as follows:

  •  1st – De La Salle Holy Cross College (A team)
  •  2nd – Beaulieu (A team)
  •  3rd – Northcliff (B team)
