WATCH: Views of Johannesburg after surviving 48 hours of a lockdown

JOBURG – Did anyone tell the ducks and geese at Zoo lake that we won't be joining them for a while?

Zoo lake without a boat on its waters, Sandton City without its usual hustle and bustle, Woodmead minus its soul-draining traffic.

It’s day three of 21 and it looks like people are adhering to the president’s orders of a national lockdown. According to the rules and regulations of the lockdown, no one may leave their home unless under strict circumstances such as food and medical needs. Police, Metro police and security companies are constantly patrolling to ensure that no one is on the streets without a valid reason and the relevant paperwork.

Everyday services such as refuse collection and maintenance of City infrastructure was taking place while many grocery stores and pharmacies operated throughout the morning. Motorists and taxis also played by the rules applicable to them as many occupants of such were wearing gloves, masks and practising social distancing in these vehicles by not sitting to close to each other.

Take a look at what’s going on out there so you don’t have to go out there yourself. Stay home, wash your hands, avoid touching your face and enjoy and share this video.
