Divine Mutombo awaits confirmation of acceptance from University of Montreal

NORTHCLIFF – During her matric year, already battling with health, finances and transport, the Covid-19 pandemic exacerbated her problems – yet she flourished.

In 2016 Divine Mutombo started her Grade 8 year at Reddford House Northcliff, having moved to South Africa from the United States.

Her home life was marred by relentless struggle, living mostly on her own, with her parents unable to speak English and based in the Congo and China, when interacting with staff and teachers, placed her in a difficult predicament as translator.

Divine saw her parents for the first time since Grade 8 when she returned home in Grade 11. Despite hardship and her health deteriorating, Divine found a safe haven in Reddford House Northcliff and staff, teachers and students ensured she was extremely well supported.

After five years at Reddford House Northcliff, Divine has grown into a responsible, independent young lady, poised to prosper. She now awaits confirmation of her acceptance from the University of Montreal in Canada.
