Brixton’s police new Sector 1 manager

BRIXTON – Sector 1’s new manager's focus will be to bring the community and business together to take on crime in the area.

Police station introduces residents of Sector 1 to its new sector manager.

Constable Nkateko Maphophe of Brixton Police Station has been appointed as the new Sector 1 manager. Sector 1 includes Melville, Auckland Park, Richmond, Braamfontein Werf and Sunnyside where Maphophe will do all he can to maximise safety and security for the public, businesses, students and residents. Station spokesperson Jeanette Backhoff said, “Given the environment, this area attracts a lot of crime and also creates opportunities for chancers to visit the area to try commit a crime, thus creating more criminals in the area.”

Maphophe has already hit the ground running introducing himself to business owners and people in the community. Backhoff added, “Maphophe is very active and his main focus will be on how to involve the community and businesses to get more projects against crime under way.”
