R35 000 raised for breast cancer awareness
NORTHCLIFF – The money was raised through efforts of KimiTri, a local charity.
To raise money and awareness for breast cancer warriors, KimiTri athletics group, a charity organisation, raised R35 000 after locals Cameron Kiloh and Ivan Barclay, along with other cyclists who joined along the route, rode 150km on October 16 to Valverdi, found in the Cradle of Humankind .
KimiTri is described as being a group dedicated to raising funds in the name of Kim Kiloh. It has grown into a club with a broad focus on creating a healthy, happy living for the community and at the same time, using it as a tool to support the fight against cancer.

On the day of the cycling trip, support on the road was great with family and friends coming together to provide encouragement and messages. They have now partnered with Boxes of Hope, who will assist in packing and distributing 300 care boxes to cancer patients embarking on their journey to fight cancer.
The late Kim Kihol was Cameron’s wife. He described how the organisation came to be after she passed away as he felt the need to show her he would follow through with his aspirations of taking part in Ironman. Before she passed, he had told her that that would be something he would love to do and her response to this was nothing but overwhelming support and excitement.
Residents in the area, who would like to join the team to help with the cause as support or participate in events, can visit the organisation’s social media pages.
