Linden police’s December arrests

LINDEN – Police kept busy this festive season by criminals.

An average of five arrests a day for police during December.

The festive season has come and gone and with it came the annual surge in criminal activity. Linden Police Station announced that through the month of December they arrested a total of 156 suspects for various crimes.

Spokesperson Constable Takalani Sibiya said, “We made these arrests in relation to crimes ranging from operating unlawful liquor establishments and shebeens, attempted murder, fraud, attempted theft of motor vehicle, theft, drunk driving and many others.”

There were also suspects arrested for contravention of the Disaster Management Act for Covid-19, shoplifting, and those found to be illegal immigrants in the policing precinct.
