Leaders ready to set an example at Brandcliff House

FAIRLAND – This year's leaders hope to make a difference and grow during their term.

Brandcliff House Private School has wished their leaders for this year well as they assume their responsibilities.

The group of six have been entrusted by the school and their fellow learners to set the right example, make a positive change and represent the school to the best of their abilities.

Brandcliff principal Jonathan Linde said, “I hope they can have a fulfilling year and that they help others at the school end 2022 on a really strong note. We hope they can have a strong [year] of academic, emotional and spiritual growth as they were elected by the students.”

They recently attended a training camp at the Kloofendal Nature Reserve where they were challenged with a set of activities where they showed their teamwork and abilities. Linde said, “There was a lot of soul searching that they had to do and support each other. They also helped each other identify their weaknesses and committed themselves to working on them as a team.”

The group also had their own hopes and aspirations for their team which they shared:

LIAM EDWARDS: I hope this year I am able to strengthen my abilities as a leader. This will help teach me things that I can use as the founder of my own business and how to work with some while guiding others.

MATTHEW ROBERTS: I want to learn how to be a better leader and a form of authority. This experience will help me guide others through high school and help them make good decisions and provide innovative ideas.

THOMAS DE KOCK: My goal is to bring a sense of comradery in the school where everyone respects one another. I want to become more disciplined and use that to set an example for learners in my grade and below.

KATLEGO MOGANE: I want to bring a positive spirit to the group, I believe I can help bring peoples happiness out. I want to help make the school atmosphere relaxed during stressful times and situations.

TAMRYN-ANN POWELL: I want to be able to talk to people at the school, those that I know and don’t know yet, more openly and be a good role model to those in younger grades.

PAIGE DELL: I hope to bring positivity and trust to the school. I would like all those at the school to feel welcome at all times and build relationships between as many people as possible.
