MONTGOMERY PARK – One patient was declared dead on scene by Emer-G-Med medics.

Emer-G-Med responded to a collision involving a minibus taxi and a light delivery vehicle at the intersection of Beyers Naudé and West Park drives, Montgomery Park at around 16:30.

Reports from the scene are that a 47-year-old woman was found in a critical condition and a call was made for the assistance of an aeromedical helicopter to airlift the patient to a specialist facility for the definitive care that she required.

“Sadly, a man of an unconfirmed age was found to have sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on arrival of paramedics,” said Emer-G-Med in a statement. “Nine other people were treated for minor injuries and taken to various nearby hospitals for further medical care by various private ambulance services.”
