BRIXTON – Local policing precinct registers in the 30 most-reported areas for theft of motor vehicle and motorcycle.

Brixton Police Station is experiencing a rise in the number of reported incidents of motor vehicle theft.

The station’s spokesperson Jeanette Backhoff said, “We are urging motorists once again to do their part in keeping themselves and their vehicles safe at all times. We are seeing a rise in the reported cases once again and will put strategies in place to reduce this.”

The latest crime statistics released by the South African Police Service for the period October to December 2021 showed that the Brixton policing precinct ranked 25th in the country for the most reported cases (73) of theft of motor vehicles and motorcycles.
