Gangsters find new home behind bars
LINDEN – After being linked to a slew of housebreakings and robberies, a gang of three criminals is now behind bars.

After what Linden Police Station calls ‘terrorism of the Linden community’, a gang responsible for housebreakings and robberies in the area is now behind bars.
According to spokesperson Sergeant Takalani Sibiya, the gang of three undocumented criminals is behind bars. This after terrorising the community, especially Windsor East and West since 2010, by committing house robberies and housebreakings. In one incident, during a house robbery, the victim was raped then burned with a hot iron on her face.
Their age range is between 32 to 45. One of them had nine counts of house robbery, eight counts of housebreaking and one count of rape. The other had four counts of house robbery, four counts of business burglary and two counts of housebreaking. The third had one count of house robbery. Further investigations are being done on the trio as the station thinks it is very possible these suspects may be linked to many more house robberies and burglary cases.
Sibiya explained the trio’s arrests are as a result of intensive investigations dating back to 2010 and as recent as March 2022. “One of the suspects even engaged in a strange ritual of defecating at all the house robbery scenes, with the belief that it would help him evade arrest for these crimes.”
All three suspects are said to appear in court in May for a bail application that the state intends opposing.
The sergeant concluded to acknowledge that valuable information from the community coupled with dedication, long hours and the use of intensive investigation aided by the Linden Detectives Tracing Team, CIMAC and Visible Policing ensured that prima facie cases exist. “Community members in the various sectors of Linden worked closely with the police to ensure this gang of criminals is off our streets.”
