Trophies galore for Linden Bowling Club
The Gauteng Open and local tournaments give Linden Bowling Club members a chance to shine.
Linden Bowling Club is celebrating the success of its members at the Gauteng Open.

This was the largest national bowls tournament in terms of competitors, and was hosted in Ekurhuleni every weekend in July.
Linden was the only club to have reached the final in three events: Women’s pairs, mixed pairs and women’s fours.

“In addition, we also had another two Linden teams reach the quarter finals of the women’s singles and the mixed pairs,” explained the club’s Lynne van Zyl.
“Not only that, but the club has been busy with their internal competitions too.”

Gauteng Open winners:
Women’s pairs:
Gold: Esmé Haley and Heather Pembroke
Mixed pairs:
Quarter finalists: Esmé Haley and Warren Steyn
Finalists – silver: Otto Holicki and Linda Hampton
Women’s singles:
Quarter finalist: Esmé Haley
Women’s fours:
Finalists – silver: Heather Pembroke, Colomba Georgiev, Linda Hampton and Mmapula Mmako
Linden Bowling Club tournament winners:
Men’s singles cup winner: Otto Holicki
Men’s plate winner: Nicholas Hwala
Women’s cup winner: still to be determined, the last three standing are Esmé Haley, Heather Pembroke and Lynne van Zyl
