As the year comes to a close, it is important to reflect on the achievements and highlights of what one has accomplished, and for SCP Security there was much that they achieved in the year.

Jaun van der Westhuizen, of SCP, shared insights on the organisation’s performance in 2024, and how his ‘heroes’ aided in the betterment of the community.

He acknowledged that 2024 has been a challenging year, due to an influx of crime and the development of new tactics by criminals. Despite these challenges, SCP Security has quickly adapted, with their success rate reflecting the effectiveness of their strategies. Van der Westhuizen emphasized that their dedication and commitment to clients and the community remained their number one priority.

When asked about heroes within the company, Van der Westhuizen highlighted Clive Maher, the owner of SCP Security. He described Maher as a figure of dedication and selflessness toward their clients, referring to them as family. Van der Westhuizen recounted a poignant incident involving a missing student from Laerskool Fairlands, noting that Maher exemplified true commitment during this crisis. “He did not stop until SCP Security found her safe. I was personally involved in this case, and he worked tirelessly until we located her at 03:00 the next morning. This was a huge success for us,” Van der Westhuizen stated.

He also expressed gratitude towards Andre Swanepoel, who initiated the Community Cleaners project. He praised Swanepoel and his team for their phenomenal work in the community, which includes cleaning parks, cutting fallen trees, and repainting roads. This initiative has made significant strides in enhancing the local environment, showcasing the impact of community engagement.
