The initiative, on October 14, is bringing together members of the SAPS, SCP Security Reaction Officers, and several private security agencies, in a co-ordinated effort focused on increasing visibility, strengthening community safety, and ensuring rapid responses to ongoing incidents in the Fairland area.

According to SCP Security, their officers are actively working alongside law enforcement, and other security partners, as part of the operation.

Fairland SAPS Sergeant Michael Kgatla stated that they conduct these operations three times a week. “We check for wanted vehicles, validity of the vehicles, immigrants, where we check for their passports, and illegal firearms as well.”

Kgatla highlighted that collaborations like these are important for such operations. “If we work hand in hand with security companies, we can cover a lot of areas. With us joining hands with security, we can curb the crime.”
