A look into the university life

Rangongo says that he is able to deal with temptations as a student.

Katlego Rangongo writes:

Campus life for me so far has been interesting and good as I meet different people from different cultures and with different personalities. But adjusting to varsity life is kind of difficult as I’m used to my parents doing everything for me.

I’m a first-year student at the University of Johannesburg studying for a Bachelor of Commerce in accounting.

I was able to make friends that are supportive and who helped me to adjust in my first few months. I’m a simple guy so going to campus I prefer to wear hoodies and jogger pants. I usually like to chill with the gents, play chess then attend classes – that’s a normal campus day for me. I’m part of the University of Johannesburg Debate Union so after classes I go to practice.

I like to play soccer, video games and watch anime over weekends. I drew up a daily timetable that I have to follow for me to balance my academics and personal life outside school. Procrastination is the thief of time so I make sure I stick to my timetable all the time.

Temptations to leave my school work and go and groove were there but luckily, I have enough backbone and didn’t fall into that trap. To the 2023 matriculants, you should work hard and never listen to a person who tells you that going to school is a waste of time just because they made it without school.
