It was a day of miniature houses and bits and bobs when the Johannesburg Society of Miniature Enthusiasts hosted the Miniature Festival.
Enthusiasts from all over the city came to the Linden-based Trinity Methodist Church, to showcase their work or the goods they sell.

Dollhouse miniatures, model trains and aircraft, scale models, matchbox car dioramas, bonsai, teddy bears, polymer clay creations, and 3D printing were just some of the aspects festival goers experienced.
The vendors/creators of these tiny treasures were quite excited to be able to be part of the event. For some of them, this event was a way for them to finally part with some pieces.
Sonja Chan, an Edenvale resident, has been creating miniature pieces for the past 17 years. She does character dolls from various eras as well as furniture pieces.
Here are some of the enthusiasts and vendors of the event:
Cheryl Clingen, who lives in Northriding, has done miniature pieces for about 23 years. She found enjoyment in taking apart watches just to see all the small pieces that make it work.
