Reach For A Dream brings Christmas cheer to young hearts

Experience the heartwarming moments of joy and laughter as Reach for a Dream brightens the Christmas season for young patients at Rahima Moosa Hospital.

Reach For A Dream, a non-profit organisation dedicated to bringing hope and joy to children facing serious health challenges, recently held a heartwarming event at Rahima Moosa Mother and Children’s Hospital.

Ivor Cleary, head of marketing and communications at Reach For A Dream, stated that the celebration was a festive gathering aimed at creating smiles and uplifting the spirits of young patients and their families during the Christmas season. “The event was filled with laughter and festive cheer, allowing families to momentarily escape the challenges of their health journeys. A highlight was the excitement on the children’s faces as they interacted with Father Christmas, whose presence filled the room with joy.”

The atmosphere was further enlivened by Siya: The Laughter Hero, whose humour and energy entertained the children, creating cherished memories that will last long after the festivities.

2024 proved to be a monumental year for Reach For A Dream, which included the inauguration of the Dream Room on November 14, sponsored by Organon South Africa, providing a sanctuary for imagination and play.
“Returning for the Christmas party a few weeks later allowed the team to celebrate the season with these brave children, reinforcing the values of warmth, kindness, and love,” said Cleary.

He emphasised that the collaboration between Reach For A Dream and Rahima Moosa Hospital is essential in creating a nurturing environment for the children. “The hospital’s support in welcoming the organisation’s efforts to bring joy underscores the power of partnership. By presenting gifts to the young patients, Reach For A Dream aimed to ensure they felt loved and celebrated during this special time of year.”
