Meet the heroes of Growing Champions
As we celebrate the season of giving, meet the heroes behind Growing Champions, who helped guide the organisation on creating a lasting change in their community.
As she reflected on the year 2024, Samantha Toweel-Moore, of Growing Champions, was compelled to honour two remarkable individuals who have profoundly inspired her mission as founder.
“My late father, Willie Toweel, remains a guiding light in our journey, instilling in our hearts the importance of striving to do all things for the glory of God. His unwavering spirit continues to motivate us as we work to uplift our community,” she recalled.

Equally deserving of recognition is coach Clive Letshaba, who, she stated, has unwavering dedication to his team that exemplifies the true meaning of service and sacrifice. Just hours after laying his beloved uncle to rest, tragically lost to violence, Letshaba chose to be at the fieldside for his team, according to Toweel.
“His actions reflect a depth of fatherly love, demonstrating loyalty and passion that humbles us all,” she said.
Despite being only a few years older than his players, his commitment to their growth and success is nothing short of inspiring.
As the champions enter the holiday season, they invite you to join our family. “Together, we can put the gold back into our city and lead the change we wish to see. We are seeking passionate individuals to become volunteers or investors in our mission.”
