Melville residents left in the cold due to power supply interruption
As temperatures drop, parts of Melville have gone dark following a power outage. City Power is looking into the matter.
Parts of Melville have been left without electricity following a power outage linked to the Hursthill substation, as a cold front grips Johannesburg.
City Power has confirmed that their technical teams are on site and continuing investigations into the cause of the outage.
Progress is currently delayed as crews await access to a critical chamber within the substation.
City Power has assured residents that they will provide ongoing updates as more information becomes available from their investigation.
Residents are advised to take necessary safety measures to stay warm and check on vulnerable neighbours during this time.
