Celebration of identity and artistry at launch of Belle Michele
Guests gathered in Melville for a night of literature, performance, and reflection as author Alexandra Levin launched her book, Belle Michele.
An ambient lit Die Pienk Kerk served as the perfect setting for author Alexandra Levin to launch her book, Belle Michele.
She shared with a captive audience the story that has lived in her heart for more than a decade. The book follows the life of non-binary Michele Bruno, who, even though she rose from a painful childhood, she would go on to train at the famed Alexandre de Paris Beauty Salon to eventually style, not just Hollywood icons, but royalty too.

On the evening, Levin read excerpts of the book to the guests as they listened with glasses of wine in hand. A preempt to what awaited them in the pages of the book. After her time reading, people were treated to the performance of drag artist Tony Zourides, who performed to My Way, a song famously song by Frank Sinatra.

Levin was ultimately grateful for the support she received that night while in Melville. Gratitude she shared as she signed books.
