CHAMDOR: RE-CLASSIFICATION OF MAJOR HAZARDOUS INSTALLATION In terms of Sub-Regulation 4(4) of the revised Major Hazardous Installation Regulations (GNR 47970 of January 2023) of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993 as amended), the AECI Industrial Chemicals Chamdor plant wishes to notify the public of the renewal of its MHI Risk Assessment for the facility in Chamdor. The site is classified as a High-Level Major Hazardous Establishment.
In terms of Sub-regulation 4 (5), any interested and affected person may, within 60 days of publication of this advertisement, make written submissions concerning the installation to the relevant local authorities for their consideration. In terms of Sub- regulation 10(4), the above risk assessment is made available by AECI Industrial Chemicals in Chamdor for scrutiny. Relevant local authority:
