Terence ‘blings’ it on

NORTHCLIFF - This year's casual day isn't about dressing down, it's about glamming it up.

Northcliff’s own Terence Bridgett, better known as Isidingo’s Chicco Booysens, is officially strutting his stuff in bling as a Casual Day ambassador.

With only a few weeks to go till Friday 5 September, he is assisting with marketing South Africa’s foremost fundraising campaign for persons with disabilities.

Everyone loves Casual Day, the campaign that invites all fun-loving South Africans to dress differently for a day to raise funds and promote awareness of persons with disabilities.

About 4 500 companies, 100 hundred schools and 400 organisations rendering services to persons with disabilities will be participating in this fun day.

“It is an excellent opportunity for corporate team building, and at the same time you’re making a contribution to persons with disabilities,” Celeste Vinassa, Casual Day project leader said on 7 August.

“We hope Terence will be tweeting up a storm and encouraging everyone to Bring out the Bling. He loves this year’s theatrical theme and has already appeared in some amazing bling outfits! Under all that talent beats a heart of gold.”

“You don’t join Casual Day for a year or two; you don’t join for a season, but you join for lifetime,” Terence added.

This year’s bling theme is inspired by the nightlife of the ’20s, ”0s and ’40s.

“To celebrate Casual Day’s 20th birthday we are inspiring South Africans to dress up, not down,” Vinassa said.

Get your stickers from the following local organisations: the Deaf Federation of SA in Richmond, Casa do Sol School in Linden or the Association for Persons with Disabilities, Greater Johannesburg in Westcliff.
