Chris Forrest opens with one-man show
FONTAINEBLEAU – Stand-up comedian Chris Forrest is back on the theatre stage with his show 'Who's your daddy'.
Stand-up comedian, Masterchef SA contestant, and Fontainebleau resident, Chris Forrest opened with his latest one-man comedy show entitled Who’s your daddy: a clueless dad’s journey to fatherhood at the Auto & General Theatre on the Square in Sandton City on 19 May.
Audiences were treated to Forrest’s take on the journey to fatherhood. Forrest made use of his own experiences of becoming a first-time father. From pregnancy to birth to looking after an infant and everything in between, the show is a hilarious look at what really happens and how to deal with parentage.
Forrest had the following to say about putting the show together, “It was quite fun. I’ve enjoyed putting it together. I believe in ‘write about what you know’. I am confident that parents in the audience can relate to the show,” he said.
He explained that apart from parents, the show also aimed to appeal to a wider audience as well. “I wanted to make the show as accessible as possible for people that didn’t have children too,” he said.
Chris Forrest has been on the forefront of the SA comedy scene since the late ’90s. His unique dry sense of humour, quick wit and intelligent comedy has made him one of the country’s most popular comedians. Who’s your daddy: a clueless dad’s journey to fatherhood was no exception as Forrest left audiences in stitches.
The show was written and performed by Chris Forrest and directed by Bevan Cullinan.
Who’s your daddy: a clueless dad’s journey to fatherhood is set to run from 19 to 31 May.
