Joburg City Theatres appoint new executive producer

BRAAMFONTEIN – It's 'break a leg' for Claire Pacariz as she takes over at Joburg City Theatres.

Joburg City Theatres announced the appointment new executive producer, Claire Pacariz on 7 September with immediate effect.

Pacariz holds a National Diploma in public relations management and has been in the entertainment industry for over 15 years. After beginning her career at a public relations consultancy, Claire was appointed production assistant at Joburg Theatre in 2003 and worked closely with theatre producer Bernard Jay for 12 years where a major part of her role was looking after the interests of visiting producers and their casts.

She has worked on many projects including 10 Janice Honeyman pantomimes, Footloose, and the highly acclaimed 2010 FIFA World Cup production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Ben Elton’s The Boys in The Photograph. “I’m extremely excited about this new challenge, and I look forward to the opportunity of embarking new partnerships and ideas,” said Pacariz.

Xoliswa Nduneni-Ngema, chief executive officer of Joburg City Theatres, said, “Claire brings the experience and expertise to meet challenges through a proven record of programming, sponsorship, marketing and media management. Given her enthusiasm for the theatre, she is eager to begin collaborating with the City of Joburg, external producers, both local and international, as well as staff members with a view to delivering results that promote a high standard of theatre content and service standards.”
