Get ready for Grease musical

Hoërskool Linden’s award-winning youth choir will be bringing the smash hit musical Grease to life. The iconic play will take place at the Roodepoort Theatre from 9 to 13 August.

The exciting musical promises to deliver on performing rock n roll classics such as Greased Lightnin’, Look At Me I’m Sandra Dee, Sandy, Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted to You and You’re the One That I Want.

Grease gained a large following around the world and influenced ’50s pop culture, creating a global cult following. The musical, set in Rydell High School follows 10 teenagers as they juggle love, adolescence, cars and drive-ins.

The musical tells the story of how the coolest Grease character Danny Zuko, originally played by John Travolta in the movie, falling in love with the wholesome Sandy Dumbrowski played by songstress Olivier Newton-John. When their worlds collide sparks begin to fly and the whole story is brought to life through song and dance.

The Linden choir’s production of Grease differentiates itself from the original musical by having more that 19 cast members. This production has 114 cast members who will bring the show to life. The original sound track has been adapted to cater for four voice parts, which promises a powerful rendition of these classics.

This Grease production is sure to be a fun and entertaining show to bring your family and friends to come and enjoy.
