MONTGOMERY PARK –Zombie's in the form of residents came to show their support for a worthy cause during the annual Zombie Walk at Westpark Cemetery.
Zombie’s in the form of residents came to show their support for a worthy cause during the annual Zombie Walk at Westpark Cemetery.

The walk was hosted by Empire Tattoos based in Fairland and took place on 31 October in celebration of Halloween.
Zombie walk founder, Tie Harris said that this year marked the walks 10-year anniversary and is inspired by the spirit of raising funds and awareness for charity. Last year the walk was in support of Marang House.
“Every year we aim to raise awareness for a charity we support and to celebrate Halloween. This year we are walking for bats in support of a fellow tattoo artist who raises funds for bats in our country. People can donate proceeds after the walk or contact us directly,” said Harris.

Tattoo artist Ryan Ansley believes bats are misunderstood animals that help us in many ways that people aren’t aware of.
“One of the positive things bats do is produce the best fertilizer in the world. Most people are terrified of them because they don’t understand them. There are various bat foundations that people can find out more information on bats and their purpose,” said Ansley.
Harris added that the walk always takes place on Halloween and she appreciates all the people who gave their time to come support the cause.
Zombie’s of all ages paraded around the cemetery dressed according to the theme.
