Joburg Heritage Virtual Tours and Talks Presents: Celebrating our new Blue Plaques on Heritage Day

PARKTOWN – This Heritage Day the Johannesburg Heritage Foundation will launch new plaques all at one go.

Lockdown gave the Johannesburg Heritage Foundation (JHF) time to research and work on new plaques which they will be launching in one fell swoop. According to deputy chairperson at the JHF, Flo Bird, ranging all over Joburg and covering musical genius, struggle heroes, laughter and striking architecture; it is a potpourri of the City’s people and places of which the JHF is intensely proud.

The JHF reminded residents that these tours are open to all and space may be limited. There is a nominal fee of R40 for fully paid-up members of the JHF, Forest Town, Houghton, Norwood, Oaklands, Parktown, Parkview and Westcliff Associations.   Non-members to pay R80 by EFT into the JHF account.

Residents who have registered and paid will receive the link on 23 September. The tour begins promptly at 2.15pm so residents are asked to sign in at least five minutes before the show starts.

Details: To join, register and pay your membership fee, please email Eira on mail@joburgheritage.co.za
