Dundee Vryheid road closed tonight as motorists are stoned

Keep away from the Dundee Vryheid road tonight i

The Dundee Vryheid road is closed tonight following an EFF attempt to take over land adjacent to the Talana Museum. Police said around four hundred EFF supporters had put up temporary shacks on municipal land previously leased by a cattle owner.

Stones were thrown at passing motorists after security officials demolished the temporary shacks.  Traffic officials, Mbube Guards and police, including backup from Glencoe, are at the scene.

Motorists are being turned away and have been urged to avoid the area until further notice.  It is believed that many of the EFF supporters were bussed in from Nquthu.
