Aerial search augments huge hunt for missing policeman, wife and friend
The flooded rivers, streams has hampered the search, police say
The search following the mysterious disappearance of a popular Dundee policeman, his wife and a friend has prompted a huge response from family, friends and volunteers who have scoured the area looking for the trio.
Yesterday, a police helicopter was dispatched from Pretoria with Search and Rescue from Newcastle, Pietermaritzburg augmenting local SAPS and scores of family members and volunteers who have been part of the hunt.
Warrant Officer Anu ‘Jakes’ Juggan, Molly Juggan and friend, Ashok Rajoo, apparently left Ashok’s Peacevale home on Friday evening and it is believed that Jakes, who runs the Dundee SAPS Farm Watch, may have gone on a drive in his Nissan Navara police vehicle to check farms in the area or on the state of the rivers.

Still no trace of missing trio

Cellphone ‘pings’ traced by police indicate that the trio and their vehicle was near the Malonjeni area, shortly before the river crossing at Landman’s Drift.
The vehicle’s tracker device had apparently malfunctioned and all three cell phones are still off.
A search was made of all areas near and around the Buffalo River, Tayside, Malonjeni and surrounding thick wooded areas. On Saturday afternoon, local pilot, Tom Honiball and volunteer, Shaughn Lake, took to the sky in Tom’s Bushcat aircraft to continue the search.
Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of the police van or any of the three people is asked to contact their nearest police station.
