Blackie Swart set to rock

Liewe Lulu hitmaker, Blackie Swart is coming to town this month.

Joining in the festivities of February 27, Blackie will perform his hits live at Majuba Lodge, as part of Die Lekker Amajuba Race proceedings.

This is yet another attraction for residents to attend Newcastle’s own Amazing Race.

What you need to known about Blackie Swart:

After years of paying his dues, Blackie Swart finally struck gold with his smash double platinum hit, Liewe Lulu.

Overnight, he became a household name, as people flocked to dance floors to celebrate his song.

Blackie went on to write a series of great songs, including tracks such as Laat Hy Val Waar Hy Wil and Perskombers.

He is a gifted guitarist, songwriter and performer.

However, Blackie decided to play his hand at something new, which led to the birth of his own recording label, Blêr Musiek, which releases many CDs and DVDs annually.

Artists signed with the label include Bobby van Jaarsveld and Sonja Lochenberg.

Beyond that, Blackie has also gone on to become a part of the acclaimed Ses Snare, popular due to the quality of the talented guitarists which the sextet comprises.

Blackie will also be joined by Peter Dahl, a well-known Cape radio personality.

Peter recently released his third studio album, titled Lost, and is outspoken on his love, and passion for performing country music.

He also founded a school for upcoming musicians, and is known best for his professional approach.

For just R10, residents can enjoy the musical talents of both Blackie Swart and Peter Dahl, which many consider a true bargain.
