Soccer boot camp with the professionals

Local coaches hailed the week-long camps as a great success as it motivated the young men to be trained by a professional

Fervent concentration and friendly competition was evident at the Wembezi Stadium last week as young soccer players trained under the watchful eye of Allan Freese.

Head coach of Highlands Park and former Estcourt resident, Mr Freese makes it a duty to give back to the community and the five camps held in Umtshezi was evidence of this.

The camps consist of basic football skills training and the players are put through their paces with running, timing, passing and defending. Mr Freese’s professional coaching style and watchful eye had the boys on their toes as they went through the various training camps that were set up at the ground.

Local coaches hailed the week-long camps as a great success as it motivated the young men to be trained by a professional.
