GALLERY: Newcastle Mall finds its star at talent competition

The energy they generated from the stage was electrifying, and had the audience on their feet for the duration of the show.

The long awaited final of the Newcastle Mall Talent Competition took place on December 6.

The group of 28 finalists was comprised of dancers, singers, poets and instrumentalists and were in high spirits.

The energy they generated from the stage was electrifying, and had the audience on their feet for the duration of the show.

At the end of the night, winners were crowned in four categories. The NN Boys won for Best Dancers. Roche Agenbag was crowned as the winner in the Modelling Category. Douglas Vrey had the audience on their feet and singing along from the start, and won the Singing Category, to great cheers from the crowd.

The amazing duo of Joseluis and Jeselaya won the General Category with their amazing instrumental skills. Roche Agenbag was declared the overall winner of the competition, and received a R10 000 bursary sponsored by Boston College as a prize.

Marketing Manager for Newcastle Mall, Beulah Rajkumar, commented at the end of the night on the competition finale.

“The night went very well and the competition was very stiff, which says a lot about the talent of the finalists. We hope that people enjoyed the event, and would like to thank everyone who made the competition possible, as well as the people who came out to support the finalists,” she concluded.
