CELEBRATIONS: Decade milestone for Vees Micro Enterprise

Describing the journey of Dookie from a boy to an enterprising man, Nair called him a visionary and a go-getter, who had already trademarked the business name in 1997.

Vees Micro Enterprise celebrated its 10th birthday in true style.

With the venue at Style and Grace Conference Centre decked out in shades of blue, black and white on Saturday evening, the scene was set for a grand celebration of true entrepreneurial success.

At the centre of it all was Veerath Dookie.

MC for the evening, KJ Nair gave a rousing speech about the many successful people bred in Dannhauser over the years, including Dookie himself.

This was despite the numerous challenges facing the town.

Describing the journey of Dookie from a boy to an enterprising man, Nair called him a visionary and a go-getter, who had already trademarked the business name in 1997.

“He began in Dannhauser and today has operations in Rustenburg, Witbank, Cape Town, Port Shepstone, Durban and of course Newcastle.”

From its humble beginnings in Dannhauser, VME has grown to employ hundreds of staff and possess a fleet of numerous vehicles countrywide.

The stage was thus set for a speech from the man of the hour.

Dookie began with an explanation of the scope of VME’s operations, services and the vision for the company’s future.

This included possible franchising within the next five years.

Concluding, Dookie extended his appreciation and acknowledgement to his family, staff and suppliers for all contributing to the success of VME over a decade.

“There’s a quote I always guide myself with: look after what you have as if you’ll lose it tomorrow.”
