GALLERY: Church hosts prosperous fundraiser party

The concept of a 'White Party' stemmed from parties held overseas and also in established cities, such as Cape Town, and can be compared to black-tie events.

Members of the Nederduits Gereformeerde Kerk Moedergemeente hosted a fundraising ‘White Party’, which was the first of its kind for Newcastle.

The extravagant event took place at Drakensberg Kloof Lodge just outside Newcastle.

The concept of a ‘White Party’ stemmed from parties held overseas and also in established cities, such as Cape Town, and can be compared to black-tie events.

However, almost 30 kilometres into the beautiful mountains, guests dressed in white or black garments had the opportunity to socialise around an array of delicious foods.

Entertainment on the night was provided by upcoming singer, Lee Berg, who kept his audience enthralled.

“It is a great way to network and get to know people in the community,” said Jandri Barnard, one of the organisers.
