Valentine’s dance raises funds for Children’s Home

Newcastillians donned their Valentine's garments and enjoyed a dance night out while showing their support for this worthy cause.

A fundraising Valentine’s country dance was held last Friday at the Newcastle Club.

Organiser of the event, Jeanette Smith said the funds raised were to be donated to the Louis Hilderbrandt Children’s Home in Volksrust.

The home currently houses 101 children and as funds became bleak, fundraisers such as this were necessary.

Although the home received government subsidies, according to management at the home it was barely enough to make ends meet.

Newcastillians donned their Valentine’s garments and enjoyed a dance night out while showing their support for this worthy cause.

Live entertainment provided by Newcastle’s very own Elvis, Ruan Nel, and sensational singer Monica Mostert ensured crowds were kept enthralled.
