Leisure time and shopping galore at Mother’s Day Market in Weenen

Food, craft, jewellery, entertainment for the children and so much more was available

Ahead of Mother’s Day, a market was held at the Owl and Elephant Lodge on May 11.

As the sun rose, with a chill in the air, stall holders set up for the day.

Hannali du Plooy with her beautiful baked creations at the tea garden.

The aim of hosting the market was to treat mums to cake and tea or shop for last-minute gifts.

A few shoppers browsed through handmade jewellery, handbags, garden ornaments, cosmetics, clothes and much more.

All the proceeds from the cake and tea garden will go towards the Estcourt Hospice Association.

“Thank you so much to all those who came out to show their support. We had stall holders come from neighbouring towns,” said market organiser Sherlene Gericke.
