Wellness Day aims to keep residents as fit as a fiddles

Free medical services, such as sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol testing, as well as boosting B12 injections were available to the public.

The Ramakrishna Centre, Newcastle branch, hosted another Wellness Day at the Green Street Ashram on Sunday.

Free medical services, such as sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol testing, as well as boosting B12 injections were available to the public.

CANSA volunteer, Mona Maharaj said the aim of the wellness days was to offer these medical services to residents, who could not visit the provincial hospitals.

Learners from St Dominics Newcastle also attended the wellness day, as part of the school’s ongoing community efforts.

“We want the youth to get more involved in projects like this,” concluded Maharaj.
