ANC Women’s League take a stand against gender-based violence

On September 19, the African National Congress Women’s League (ANCYL) of the Josiah Gumede Region marched from Princess Park to Estcourt police station to demand action to address gender-based violence and femicide.

A detailed memorandum was handed over to Captain Zuma; one of the demands listed was that perpetrators of these crimes be sentenced to life imprisonment.
