Patrons raise a glass to a refined evening

Tsogo Sun Group Sommelier, Miguel Chan paired his premium selection of wine estates with a menu collaboration between Justin Oliver, Executive Chef from Suncoast and Blackrock Casino’s Chefs Gary, Keletso and Theolan to create a Wine and Dine evening to remember.

On September 20, guests were treated to five different wines to taste, of which four were paired with mouth-watering dishes to bring out the best in both.

The wines were perfectly paired with Indian cuisine for the night, to transport diners from their seats on a journey of new tastes from the Cape Winelands.

The menu included:

Starter: Deconstructed crab and shrimp samoosa and Durban pineapple salsa with red beet shoots; coupled with De Krans Moscato.

Main: Lightly spiced authentic curried lamb shank, saffron and coriander risotto and a creamy korma sauce; paired with Kanonkop Kadette.

Dessert: Coconut soji slice, a traditional gulab jamun and a scoop of vanilla icecream on a bed of pecan crumbs; served with a Bon Courage Blush.
