The Lenville-based creche hosted a five kilometre fun walk/run in the area, featuring a few market stalls and a warm-up by a professional instructor.

Centre manager, Maxine Dladla elaborated: “We are raising funds for the creche and it’s also for the community who haven’t experienced this.” Residents were given the opportunity to host market stalls on the premises, to generate their own income bar a 20 per cent pledge to Peter Pan.

The creche remains in need of assistance from the community.

Dladla thanked Sanele Mtshali from JustGym Newcastle for his intensive warm-up demonstration, which preceded a lengthy trek through Fairleigh.

Residents are also thanked for their participation.
