Child rapist caught
Police suspect that the man may be a serial rapist linked to several outstanding child rape cases
A 24-year-old man has been arrested for the rape of three young children.
The man was arrested last Wednesday in the Besters area by Warrant Officer Buthelezi from the Family Violence, Child Protection & Sexual Offences Unit (FCS). He has been linked to the rape of three children aged between four and six years old.
The rape cases stretch over a long period of time. Since his arrest, additional charges of rape are being investigated.
It is believed that the number of rape charges the man will face is sure to increase. Police suspect that the man may be a serial rapist linked to several outstanding child rape cases.
Community members have come forward with details of the man’s activities.
The case has been remanded pending further investigation and the suspect remains in police custody.
