Two prominent Ladysmith business owners have been arrested by the Hawks.
The elite police Hawks Unit detained well-known business owners, husband and wife Jogenthren ‘Yogan’ Naidoo (41) and Pramitha ‘Pam’ Naidoo (34), this morning. They have since appeared in court.
At the time of going to press, it is believed that the Hawks intend to arrest other business people in connection with fraud relating to uThukela.

The couple have since appeared in court. They face charges of fraud involving R36 million.
They are Yogan Naidoo and Pramitha “Pam” Naidoo. More arrests are expected later this week.

The Hawks arrested a couple on fraud charges this morning (Friday) in Ladysmith.
Well-known business owners, husband and wife Jogenthren ‘Yogan’ Naidoo (41) and Pramitha ‘Pam’ Naidoo (34), were arrested on charges relating to fraud pertaining to contract and tender irregularities.
The couple appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court today. The accused were granted bail of R50,000 (husband) and R30,000 (wife) respectively. They will have to make themselves present at the Ladysmith police station on a weekly basis as part of their bail conditions. The case was remanded until March 27 next year, pending further investigation.
