Veterans on the cancer offensive
“We have landed a man on the moon, but there’s no cure for cancer."
In times of conflict, those who today re members of the Memorable Order of Tin Hats (MOTHS), were required to be men of action.
While time may have marched on, the members of the Monte Stanco Shellhole continue to show their manliness hides a deep care for others.
Just ask Glen Topham, one of three MOTH members who sported a moustache during Movember.
“I took part to help people who have cancer. We know a few members who passed away from the disease so I tried my best.”
Mr Topham agrees there needs to be more focus on male health concerns, understanding this to mean males are sometimes too scared to do something about their own health matters.
With his ‘lip topper’, Mr Topham hopes his support can ultimately change the face of men’s health.
The veteran admitted the many aggressive cancer forms known today made the disease one to beware.
“We have landed a man on the moon, but there’s no cure for cancer,” he said poignantly.
