Spectacular Diwali celebration brings the community together

Cultural performances, live music and fireworks honouring the late Anand Riga made the celebration one to remember.

The Young Hindu Cultural Service Society (YHCSS) hosted a memorable Diwali celebration last Saturday (October 24) at the YHCSS Hall in Kandahar Avenue, bringing the community together for an evening of culture, entertainment and fellowship.

Organised in partnership with Riga Bros Sports & Leisure and Riga Byte, the event featured cultural sketches, dance performances and live music by S & T Productions from Pietermaritzburg.

Fireworks honour late Anand Riga

One of the evening’s highlights was a spectacular fireworks display held in honour of the late Anand Riga, celebrating his lasting legacy and contribution to the community.

A celebration of light and togetherness

The beautifully decorated venue created a festive atmosphere as families and community members enjoyed an evening filled with cultural entertainment. With free entry and supper served to attendees, the celebration truly captured the spirit of Diwali – the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil and hope over despair.

The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended!
