How to make your own beer cocktail this festive season

Perfect for a hot African summer day, try this one out and impress your guests over the festive season.

The South African culture of beer has evolved over recent years with the explosion of craft beer brewing and beer-food pairing.

The South African Breweries (SAB) and LiquidChefs Mobile Bar Services created a number of delicious beer cocktails that are easy to make and low in alcohol content.

Perfect for a hot African summer day, try this one out and impress your guests over the festive season.

Castle deLite

Ingredients:

1 bottle of Castle Lite;

Elderflower and honey foam; and

Garnish: piece of lemon zest.

Brutal Fruit Lavascious Lemon

Glass type – wine glass

Method:

Make foam by placing 25ml honey, 25ml Elderflower Syrup and 12,5ml Brutal Fruit Lavascious Lemon into a shaker or bowl with 1 egg white.

Whisk or shake the above ingredients together to aerate.

Pour the lite beer into the wine glass.

Spoon or pour over the foam onto the lite beer.

Garnish with a piece of lemon zest.

To make the Elderflower & Honey Foam, dry shake 25ml honey, 25ml elderflower syrup with 12,5ml Brutal Fruit Lavascious Lemon, a dash of grenadine or pomegranate syrup and 1 egg white.
