Bikers’ gesture of goodwill

The members of the Crankers Motorcycling Club donned red Christmas hats, and presented each child with a toy for Christmas

On December 16, 2013, formerly known as the Day of Goodwill, members of the Crankers Motorcycling Club embodied goodwill by holding a Christmas party for about 70 indigent children from the Weenen area.
This gesture was in commemoration of the deceased biker, Patrick Ngcobo, who had died tragically in a biking accident in November.
The function was held at the Weenen Community Centre.
The area came alive with the sound of motorbikes, not only from the Crankers, which are based in Estcourt and Weenen but also from bikers from clubs in Pietermaritzburg and Howick.
Activities included a jumping castle, sack race and egg-and-spoon race.
Squeals of delight could be heard from the children when they were taken for rides on the bikes.
Lunch was supplied in the form of hotdogs and juice and each child was given a party pack.

Adults present also enjoyed a scrumptious meal.
The members thank all the sponsors.
